Punjab Aircraft Maintenance Engineering College, Civil Aerodrome, Sangrur Road, Patiala (PAMEC) was established by the Punjab Government in the early 1980s to impart ab-initio training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME). Punjab Aircraft Maintenance Engineering College, Patiala is an only Institute in India, which is also offering, a three years B.Sc (Hons.) Course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering recognized by University Grant Commission, New Delhi and affiliated to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda. Both the courses are conducted concurrently with the syllabus, approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, New Delhi and University Grant Commission, New Delhi respectively. The syllabus for both the courses is almost the same.
The Institute has been approved by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, New Delhi to provide basic training in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course under CAR-147(Basic) in Cat. B1.2.
